Help shape something new at Springdale Psychology

We’re developing a new programme of wellbeing and neurodiversity support sessions. These will be a broad range of wellbeing sessions for adults, children, teens, parents and designed to meet real-life challenges and needs.

We would value your help in shaping this new approach.

These sessions will aim to provide structured, practical, skills-based sessions you can commit to or dip in and out of, with multiple sessions each month for less than the cost of a single therapy appointment.

They’re designed to sit somewhere between self-help and formal therapy: a place to learn helpful tools, understand your mind, and feel part of something supportive, without needing to commit to therapy.

Who is this for?

These are not therapy groups. Members can speak openly, but there’s no expectation to speak or share anything personal. There is no expectation for introductions, icebreakers, or sharing your story. Many people can simply attend, listen, learn, and take away tools they can use straight away.

The approach is aimed at meeting the needs of people who:

  • Don’t need therapy right now, but would benefit from some support and advice
  • Are currently in therapy and want something extra alongside (a bit like attending gym classes as well as seeing a personal trainer)
  • Are coming to the end of therapy and want a more gentle step-down
  • Want accessible, high quality, practical strategies and skills but at a lower cost and greater flexibility than traditional therapy approaches
  • Have tried self-help books, podcasts, or apps, but found they needed something more guided and structured
  • Would prefer guidance without having to talk about anything personal just yet

Sessions that are:

  • Practical and strategy-focused
  • Strengths-based and empowering
  • Safe, guided and low-pressure
  • Accessible, flexible and affordable
  • Shaped by the people who will use them

Think of this approach as gym-style mental fitness classes; clear topics, practical evidence-based tools, a predictable structure, optional participation, and no pressure to share anything private.  And just like a gym, this isn’t a course you can ‘fall behind’ on; it’s a rolling programme you can drop in and out of, with no start date, no finish line, and no catching up to do.  There’s a timetable of sessions, and you come to the ones you need, when you need them.  If you miss some, nothing is ruined.  Our aim is to help you understand your own patterns more clearly, build everyday coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and feel supported in a flexible way that suits you.
