Danielle Lovelady

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

Danielle is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with extensive experience supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with a range of mental health difficulties.  Since 2018, she has delivered evidence-based interventions to support issues such as anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, and behavioural challenges.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies from Edge Hill University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).  Her academic background, alongside her professional CBT training and accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), ensures she delivers high-quality, evidence-based care in line with national standards.

Alongside her work in private practice, Danielle works as a Mental Health Practitioner for a charity, supporting individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties.  She also has experience delivering psychoeducational workshops on topics such as anxiety and depression, and engaging individuals who may feel hesitant about accessing support.

Danielle has also worked within NHS Child and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CYPMHS), where she provided both low- and high-intensity CBT interventions.  She has extensive experience completing comprehensive assessments, developing tailored treatment plans, and working collaboratively with young people, families, and other professionals.  She is skilled in monitoring progress and adapting interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Prior to her clinical career, Danielle worked as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher within a secondary special school, supporting young people with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.  This experience continues to inform her therapeutic work, allowing her to adapt her approach to suit a wide range of abilities and communication styles.

Danielle is passionate about providing accessible, inclusive, and collaborative therapy.  She works closely with young people and their families to create a safe and supportive environment, helping them to feel understood, build resilience, and achieve meaningful and lasting change.
